I've got a 1st gen so I don't think the plate thing applies to me. I've heard about a pipe plug that can be removed from the head that the boost guage can bolt to. For the egt it looks like I'm gonna have to drill the manifold. Thanx for the thoughts and comments.
Thanks Holtzer. Thats the kind of info I need. Any recomendation on aftermarket parts? DTT and ATS are two I've noticed from other boards. I may as well change out all the clutches if I'm going to pull the trans for a TC anyway. It's on my to do list. I think my next mods will be boost and...
I'll check the routing. I know what you mean though. That's how I have it set up on my wheeler. On the wheeler I used the AC condensor as the trans cooler. Great cheap upgrade since AC didn't work anyway. I'm keeping AC in the Dodge though. ;Sweet
thanx for the help.
2 more questions:
-Where is the best place to mount the pyrometer? Prior to or after the turbo? Where's everyone getting there numbers from?
-Where is the best place to hook up a boost pressure switch/sending unit? Where is the best place to mount it?
I guess...
I'm going to start listing all my newb questions here as to not pollute this site any more than I have to. Right now what I'd like to know is:
-What is a torque plate and what does the number refer to?
-What/where is the AFC Wheel and how can it be adjusted?
I appreciate your time and...
I just checked out the Diesel Dynamics calculator and for my aplication it only allowed me 190 hp. Is my automatic only capable of 190 hp? How much is too much for the trans? I know that heat is the enemy and plan on doing some stuff to keep the temps down.
I'm new here and still learning so take what I have with a grain of salt. I'm guessing by injectors you mean aftermarket. I've learned so far that excessive smoke is caused from too much fuel. So you've got to figure out how to use up the fuel either by increasing the airflow or other means...
I forgot to add that whoever had the truck before me added a tranny cooler. It's mounted on the drivers side in front of the rear tire. There's a plate to prevent it from catching mud and rocks from the rear tire. Next time I go to the boneyard I'll pull an electric fan for it which I think...
If I gain 60 hp with this then I guess I've gone as far as I should go with the stock trans. Alot cheaper too. But I have a disease called wrenchitus. I can't leave well enough alone and once I've started it never stops. My 4x4 is a good example. Now I've got a hauler to build. lol.
Has anyone ever used water/**** injection AND propane at the same time? How would this work in small amounts? or do propane and methanol not play well together?
I'm curious about how diesel injectors are labeled. I'm seeing them advertised as anywhere from 30-150hp. Is this how much they make over stock injectors? Does the injector pump need to be bumped up to keep up with the new injectors? I'm sure if you start adding a whole lot of fuel you'd...
