2 cycle in diesel? good or bad?
Beat me to it. one oz per gallon. +/- what ever is close. I usually fill at 20 gal point by mileage and use about 2/3 of an old white Diesel service bottle to measure the TC-3. wal-Mart in the blue jug. We have B-5 here in Minn so you really don't need any additive now except in the winter...- bentwings

straight piping a 5.9 cummins good or bad?
I've got 250k on my 99 DCTD 200k without a muffler or resonator. Runs just fine. I have an easy foot too where required. Nothing like a 99 24 valve for making noise however. I have to be carefull pulling my streetrod trailer up a hill in town. It won't break windows but it will set off car...- bentwings

Fuel gelling temperature
For the last 6 months I have used no Power Service and only Walmart 2 stroke oil. Here in Minn we have full winter fuel from about mid Dec to mid April. It is also ULSD and 2% bio diesel. Oil change intervals
Rotella and Fleetgard 8000 miles. I found 2 stores that have a huge stock of CF-I 4 Rotella and Dello and I'm not telling anyone. Pluss I wear a disguise and drive a borrowed car and some times have a bum pick it up for me, so don't try to follow me. haha :rotflmao- bentwings

Who's using 2 cycle oil with their Diesel?
Looks to me that 2% bio is the best thing going. We have it without choice here in Minn. While b100 is not exactly cheap nor readily available here I think I'd go the long mile to have it for an additive. 2 stroke for me otherwise. Former Power Service advocate.- bentwings

I've had mine about 2 months now and love it. I'm still exploring it and documenting what it does. I get better mpg on SW3 than SW1. SW5 is fun and smokes more. SW7 and SW9 are too touchy on the throttle for me. To answer the question I think it adds about 40-50 hp maybe a little more...- bentwings

I get a kick out of the "tampering" thing. If you "tamper" with a Cummins injector fuel pump, the truck goes like crazy to the extent of your "tampering". Traction tires for my dually?
I'm with tonkadoctor, a set of single tire chains get me anywhere I need to go snow mud or what ever. I only rear drive but 4 wheels haha. I just use them on the outer tires. I got back at a JL a while ago. I had an 89 T-Bird Super Coupe. I took it in for an oil change which I specified exactly what I wanted done. Is my lift pump dying?
I would replace the air cleaner first, or install a high flow one. Then replace the fuel filter. You need to get a fuel pressure gage installed after the filter. If you have less than about 6psi WOT the lift pump is getting to the end of life. Look for 14psi after the filter. If you...- bentwings

Straight Pipe +/- MPG
I'm a couple years back and drive pretty easy and consistant. I'd say maybe...maybe 1/2 mpg gain. sometimes I think it is more but that's offset by the times I have to rattle windows and tromp on it. That kills any perceived gain for sure. Any loss comes from tromping on it or just stepping...- bentwings

Noise Level
:D If you think a 24 valve is a bit noisy then go with the common rail. they actually are pretty quiet. You can also put sound deadning inthe cab.....maybe have your cake too :D- bentwings
