It does, but I've never seen it perfectly full, so I guess it is air. I tried to test it today with a jerry can but ended up spilling diesel all over myself. I'll get a longer section of hose next time and try it again.- BEAR_METAL

I've got a duralift. Thing kicks ass. No leaks from there. I'll have to check that, I just checked and there is a small leak coming from around the front tank. That has been answered twice already. The answer is no, I left the gear housing on and removed the pump from the studs. While I was working on it I did notice that one of the injectors had backed off of the threads and was sitting loose (I could move it with my fingers). Any reason this could...- BEAR_METAL

It definitely doesn't smell like antifreeze or oil. The reviews of pensacola seem to be scattered. Some say they are perfectly fine, others have had nothing but issues. She had a bad lift pump that I didn't catch until it started misfiring and dumping oil out the side of the crankcase, I replaced it with an electric pump (duralift ftw) and some good diesel rated fuel hose. Thank you all for helping me with this issue. For all others with a similar issue, I suggest you check your boost elbows when the engine is at temperature. It's definitely an IDI. I have no maintenance history on the truck. Only thing I know for certain is that it sat for a considerable amount of time before I purchased it. The governor spring wouldn't make sense though, as I've taken it out to 3,000-3,300rpm before it started running poor...- BEAR_METAL
