well JFYI the boiling point of motor oil is about 300 degrees C (flash point is around 280°C) but that can be lowered with vacuum
You would need a decent CFM liquid ring vacuum pump, $$$$ and then on top of that you wold need a condenser, and for the condenser you would need a chiller for...

I have looked into this as well and have done lots of reading and also have worked on both OM616 and OM617,
I to had a 240 awesome lil car but it was a rust bucket so i keped the engine/tranny and scraped the rest and am going to put the 240 engine in a suzuki...
my 1st heavy haul for that rig
I think the gen set is around 11,000 lbs but the truck handled it like a champ but was not going to win any races but it also did not complain

very nice work. ! ditto the 73-87 chev trucks are my faves trucks and you can pick up a fuel pump at 711 LOL
and the gauge cluster is kick ass did not know they had one with a diesel tac on air pressure

Same! It always flashes up in the morning, Always fill my fuel filter when i change it. Never run out of gas. Never had a reason to change it :D
