    It dumped a gallon of oil in 50 miles its not a leak its getting pushed out the crank case vent. Also oil leaks don't cause white exhaust smoke and a rough idle.

    The roads are not salted up here because it turns the road into a giant salt lock for moose so rust occurs but not a major issue like back east especially if you take care of your rig.

    Also just an FYI prices on everything in Ak are higher than the lower 48 for example its often cheaper to buy a new vehicle from Idaho and ship it up on the barge than purchase it local. With a limited market and higher freight costs to get stuff up here there is a bit of inflation.
