    Keith, where has the truck spent most of its life? I'm thinking as Gary is that there are some ground/hot resistance issues, maybe corrosion at connections or where grounds are bolted to the frame. Mike

    The alternator should be very similar of the same as what is on Ag equipment. As far as the low idle it has to be controlled by the engine computer. He might have to have someone talk to it.

    They don't have syncro's on the sliding clutches, just hi-low range has a syncro. The lightning has a computer that controls the air that does range & splitter shifting. I'm not sure if he has the 'top 2' trans, it shifts automatically 9th to 10th & vice-versa all controlled by the computer...

    I know Ford used engines from the farm tractor division for a while, I used a mechanics truck for Kiewit Pacific that had a tractor engine. The engine in timntools' rig sure looks like the tractor division engine.
