New 6.7l has Siamese cylinders I see.

All engines are prone to cavitate, Cat, Navistar and Cummins. Seen them all leach holes in the cylinders on our farm tractors, Now some are more problems due to design, (IE 7.3L Navistar for example) and rear their heads sooner. That being said, I think Cummins might be a little further ahead...

Well went to the dark side, not...

No still got the Old girl, but if I can get $6000 for it I will sell it. Been a great truck, the new truck is easier for the wife to drive and has more amenities for her. That being said, I like the new Dodge too. Lots of power pulling for sure. John D

Got my 06 Ram 2500 quad cab this week after having Fords my whole life. Gotta say I love the 6 speed and the quiet motor. Dodge has really made great leaps in their pickups. ;Sweet

92 F-350 Crew Cab 4x4 for sale. New motor ect...

Well just had the motor completely rebuilt, sleeved all 8 cylinders, put in coated pistons, injector pump rebuilt by Dr. Diesel, Pump was set up so that I could put on a turbo but I'm selling it instead. Brand new Standyne injectors, new lift pump, also have an aluminum tool box on it. No rust...

    lets talk idi's

All diesels are subject to cavitation, period. The 7.3 is more prone than the 6.9 due to the thinner cylinder walls. The coolant additive that ford recommends putting in the powerstroke (same block as the IDI) saves the Idi's too. I have done some extensive research about this before I went...

    91 F350 smokes too much

If it is white smoke too it could be a block that has cavitated and is burning water in the motor. Pull the radiator cap and see if any black carbon is floating on top, that could be the culprit in which case a rebuild is in order and you will have to sleeve that block to get it to work. I...

    NEED 7.3l idi and 6.9l idi info.....badly

I have not heard that the 7.3 had a cracking problem, I know that they are hard to come by because the outfit here in spokane has bought up everything on the west coast.

So how heavy are our trucks?

My crew cab longbed with tool box, not too full, and full of fuel is 7400, its a 4x4.

    IDI inplace of POWERSTROKE

The remanned tranny in my 92 was a 97, if you pull the pan and switch to the older internal valve body it should work, shouldn't it?

    Finally done!

Got the old 7.3 done and back on the road, put in new coated pistons, had all 8 cylinders sleeved, heads rebuilt, new lifters, cam, and injectors. Seems to run alot better than when I pulled it out. When can I start pulling with it? How long should I allow the pistons to seat? Thanks for all...
