Well the weather finally broke and the 1 ton is running.. nightmare. Allow me to break it all down for you cuz I know you all is curious.
So, the cause of this debacle was the "fuel line heater circuit" and the wrong amperage fuse in the circuit. The 40 amp fuse just snickered as the heater...
Average working condition temperature a balmy 35 degrees. I have installed 6 out of 8 new glow plugs. The second one in driver's side is the most difficult so switched to quarter drive.
Have fab'd up wiring for temp switch to lnjector pump cold start enrichment but broke the fast idle solenoid...
the wires indicated by arrows ..I am color blind so the color looks red in photos on the smaller wire on right. Seems to be more purple
in real time. The left wire in photo is green?? They both pulse slowly with key on.
okay damn, all my glow plugs are open and they were all unplugged, probably bad controller failing to always hot. 'putting in new zd1a plugs
I believe that I can jump the glow plug relay hot post to one of the small posts, then run a wire from other small post to a momentary switch in the cab...
i just realized that I hadn't ever photo graphed the old 1 ton before.. and you know what? With that black slash graphic thing I painted on the sides a few years ago...it doesn't look so ****-y know? although if I were hitchhiking and saw this thing coming I think I would reel the old thumb...

Okay I am officially needing Van expertise! I got the glow plug harness half way out on passenger side. I think now it was the fuel line heater wiring that fried taking out the Fuel cutoff wiring. I have a few questions... Glow Plug relay? This looks just like the starter relay.?
