How big of a job is a rear main on these?
Sorry, I don't check here every day and things get off the first page fast around here! No. This led to my concern about fouling the oil with stuff scraped and cleaned from the back of the engine. I tried stuffing paper towels in the opening but that didn't work well. I'm sure some stuff got...- 3/4 Ton-O-Fun

Throw out bearing
I just put in a new one with my new clutch from Ft. Wayne smf conversion. I put a new fork in as well because of the wear on it. The new throwout bearing has a lot of plastic on it. I hope it lasts as long as the clutch. These thowout bearings are supposed to be self centering and correctly...- 3/4 Ton-O-Fun

How big of a job is a rear main on these?
I think if I had it to do again I would spend more time figuring out where the seal rides before installing it. I did not install a new sleeve. You shouldn't need to either if you install the seal to ride on a different part of the crank. There is enough depth to do that easily. I should have...- 3/4 Ton-O-Fun

More mileage. with shell and without?
Has anyone noticed the "flaps" of material that most of the trailers have under them and that some have at the back? I am thinking about rigging something like that up for the back of my camper shell/bed. I can't make my truck any uglier!- 3/4 Ton-O-Fun

Truck gun?
I think leaving a gun in a truck is asking for trouble. That being said, there are lots of options for vehicle mounting. Soft, hard and even locking mounts. I just did the rear main seal and wanted to add somethings that might help those that care to read. Icanfixall said "Just make very sure you get the joint at the oil pan flange and the oil pan really clean and use plenty of rtv at the juncture. You don't need half a tube there... MPG
Lightly loaded with my zf-5 and 410 I get 15-16 if I pull the 55mph prius blocker action on the highway. I know my fuel system is tired. You take some lumps when you buy a $800 truck. Adding an inline fuel/water seperator.

WMO seperate antifreeze from oil
Disclaimer! I have never done this! If you have a good way of separating water, just add a bunch more and stir. This should form two layers with standing and be easy to remove.
