How big of a job is a rear main on these?

Sorry, I don't check here every day and things get off the first page fast around here! No. This led to my concern about fouling the oil with stuff scraped and cleaned from the back of the engine. I tried stuffing paper towels in the opening but that didn't work well. I'm sure some stuff got...

    Throw out bearing

I just put in a new one with my new clutch from Ft. Wayne smf conversion. I put a new fork in as well because of the wear on it. The new throwout bearing has a lot of plastic on it. I hope it lasts as long as the clutch. These thowout bearings are supposed to be self centering and correctly...

How big of a job is a rear main on these?

I think if I had it to do again I would spend more time figuring out where the seal rides before installing it. I did not install a new sleeve. You shouldn't need to either if you install the seal to ride on a different part of the crank. There is enough depth to do that easily. I should have...

More mileage. with shell and without?

Has anyone noticed the "flaps" of material that most of the trailers have under them and that some have at the back? I am thinking about rigging something like that up for the back of my camper shell/bed. I can't make my truck any uglier!

Look out for the slow blue bricknose!

First off, thanks to everyone! I have good news and better news. First, I made it. Second, new mpg record for me, 19.4mpg over 1623.4miles. The double nickel avenger! Knuckledragger, Do you have a view of where they close the 210 down to 2 lanes on a friday night? Yeah, that sucked. I...

Look out for the slow blue bricknose!

WilltheThrill, I have been one street off of Mill Ave, just south of ASU. riotwarrior, I will be using White Rock as a home base of sorts. The wife and I have places to use there, in Summerland and at Sun Peaks. This winter will be fun, for sure! typ4, I am planning on a fuel system...

Look out for the slow blue bricknose!

Tomorrow I start the run from Tempe, AZ to White Rock, BC. I am planning on I-10 to I-210 to I-5. Yes, I know I have my seasonal migration mixed up. Wave if you see me. I'm the one with the black primer passenger side door!

    Truck gun?

I think leaving a gun in a truck is asking for trouble. That being said, there are lots of options for vehicle mounting. Soft, hard and even locking mounts. I never thought about putting a scabbard/pouch on the back of the seat, but love it. I will be doing that mod here soon. Guns in...

How big of a job is a rear main on these?

I just did the rear main seal and wanted to add somethings that might help those that care to read. Icanfixall said "Just make very sure you get the joint at the oil pan flange and the oil pan really clean and use plenty of rtv at the juncture. You don't need half a tube there... Just enough...

    Best headlamp polisher

Hey everyone... So I had theorized that you don't need to polish if clear coating because the clear coat fills in the haze, just like when painting anything. I tried it out. It works great and is super fast. The technique; 1) Mask your trim and surrounding area so you don't skuff or...

    MPG

Lightly loaded with my zf-5 and 410 I get 15-16 if I pull the 55mph prius blocker action on the highway. I know my fuel system is tired. You take some lumps when you buy a $800 truck. I am waiting until spring(I hope) to do batteries and all the fuel system, injectors, lines, IP and liftpump...

    Adding an inline fuel/water seperator.

I lived in Quintana Roo for a while and only had problems right after hurricane Emily when I decided to go for a beer run to a city that had started selling alcohol again. Seems a Cat 3 and real flooding got a bit of water in the holding tanks. If you want to really go all out, slap a racor...

    WMO seperate antifreeze from oil

Disclaimer! I have never done this! If you have a good way of separating water, just add a bunch more and stir. This should form two layers with standing and be easy to remove. Test it out with a small quantity first. Chemistry tells me this is right, not any actual experience with used...
