This is why a 7/16 threaded hole can't be drilled and taped out to 1/2 inch.....
The 7/16 hole needs to be .3680 and the 1/2 inch hole needs to be.4219. that does not leave enough material for the 1/2 inch tap to cut a full thread from the block. All you can get is about half a thread thickness in the block. You end up with a thread thats only .0539 thick. Not near enough for a head bolt to hold on at peak torque. You would pull the threads out of the block.
