transfer case shifter

My transfer case shifter froze up on my 92-97 style, what do I need to do to unfreeze it. I've tried spraying it with PB Blaster.

Removal, disassemble, clean, tap for gear fittings, clean again, grease, reassemble.

I am actually having this issue with my dads truck and cant find the techy on here about it.

keep it lubricated, see those grease fittings?

May need a new bushing in it.

Is it still stuck?

after lubng up Make sure your hubs are unlocked and drive it on dirt while turning and trying to shift the t case Used to have to do this at the jeep dealership all the time with stuck transfer cases sometimes you have to lock the hubs in and try it to jostle the blamed things loose. They just get ornery sometimes if they dont get used regularly.) or used all teh time and not kicked out)

i put a smaller grade 8 bolt with a locking cap nut hrough the shifter and mount. works better than new

How do you get it out of the truck?

Unbolt it from the transmission.
2 bolts and they're a ****** to get at.

I got it out and I got the pivot bolt out.

Was the "bushing" in there?

I think you can get a new one, but I like the idea of just putting a grease zerk on it.
