tach and battery light?

are the tach and battery indicator light tied in together? my tach is not working properly, shows low to no rpms until i get to running through the gears, then when waiting at a light or what not it bounces around, and when its bouncing down under a certain RPM the battery indicator light comes on or flashes on that dash.. i have a manual battery gauge and it shows constant 14ish volts.. so it's got to be just an annoying fluke, but hate seeing lights coming on in the dash when nothing is wrong.. hoping to sell the truck soon and would like to work that little bug out of it before that time.. i have read many tach posts on here and it seems the tachs are prone to issues, but didn't see any mention the battery indicator coinsiding with the tach issue..

Rotate the ign switch slightly fwd and back and see if symptoms disappear even momentarily

Not connected.
Battery light means you aren't charging.

Anyway your idle is set too low?
