I'm trying to isolate a rattle in the front axle/suspension on a 2000 F350 4x4 CC. I would have sworn it was the ball joints. I've got the front drive shafts pulled out now, and waiting on a bigger pickle fork to arrive so that I can finish removing the knuckles and continue with the job. Thing is, they seem pretty tight. Obviously me pushing on them by hand, and with what little leverage I can get on them using a 4' 2x4 is nothing like what happens when I'm actually driving down the road. I'm just wondering if there isn't something else I should be looking at while I'm in there. The drive shafts (stubs) and U-Joints look good. One of the manual lock outs is trash, but that shouldn't give me the hard rattle/knock that I hear every time I hit a bump. Any suggestions?
