Don't hold me to this, but I think DE uses Total Loss Formula meaning Cost of Repair + Salvage Value > Actual Cash Value will result in a total loss. (Unlike MD which uses 75% meaning damage must exceed 75% of vehicle actual cash value)

I'm thinking you need to be prepared for a total loss.

Once you buy it back I'd round up a fully loaded Dually rear end with springs from the salvage yard. Order up the replacement spring shackles and get them installed. Seems like easily less than $1500 bucks and a weekend would have it back on the road. I understand your mounts are bent and hard to get too, but there are ways to access them.

I agree from an insurance aspect they will total it, but from a practical what can a guy fix that's no where near totaled.

My concern would be if the frame is tweaked or the frame rails are bent, that would be the major determining factor. Hangers, leafs and axle are easy to replace.

First off. Rest a little. You will hurt like hell for a couple days. Second, I'll echo what the other guys have said, figure out if the frame is bent. If it's okay, axle swap and have the driveshaft checked. It probably bent the tube and who knows what else may have happened to it. Look your trans and tcase over CAREFULLY and make sure it didn't crack anything. If you got hit hard enough to spin that beast around, I guarantee the frame bowed a lot. It may not have bent it but it could have bowed it it far enough to to break or crack cases/mounts.

Good luck. I basically lost a truck over a simple rear end collision it just took 10k miles to figure it out so you can't be too careful here.

Just going through recovery from a wreck myself... So I have some advise.

1. Get a lawyer that only does personal injury cases. Your sore neck needs doctors care. Trust me. That doctor needs to work with your lawyer.

2. That lawyer will guide you through discussions with the insurance company of the guy that injured you..

3. It's a work truck, critical to your income. Right? Loss of income.. Injury... Replacement of vehicle.. it all adds up..

What hit you was a commercial vehicle.. .It will have been required to carry a high minimum insurance for liability. A good personal injury Atty will dig all that up.

Worth the 25% of recovery he will charge..

Yeah I was going to add. Measure diagonals on the frame from symmetrical holes. If the measurements don't match then the frame is diamond. It can be pulled, but depends on how good your frame guy is. Diamond frames seem to pull better than smashed frames has been my experience from doing wrecks.
