my very first clutch,
i was converting my 68 pontiac tempest vert
from auto to manual.
got all the stock pedals in.
took me a week to get everything done.
got it on the ground and the damn thing didnt work.
no help no one around.
this was in 92 so these forums were not even around.
got it on the ground and the damn thing didnt work.
i had a part time gig at a boat yard washing boats.
nearly 4 months just to beable to afford a centerforce clutch.
took it apart again, and finally found that i had removed 3 bolts off the pressure plate
that i wasnt supposed to take off. destroyed the clutch.
worked my ass off every weekend and after school.
to afford a new clutch.
so yea your record is still quicker than mine.

keep your head up!
youll get it.
but i feel your pain!

heres the car in 99 when i was able to rebuild it from the ground up.

Thanks man. I think the worst part about not getting it done last night, besides my everything hurting, is that I didn't get it done AND I didn't getting to be with my wife.
I'll get back to it. Thanks a lot for your help, advice, and encouragement.

I believed that and now I know that! I will preach that as gospel.
The transfer case was definitely responsible for the fall down incident.
I believe if the transfer case had been separated and I had realized the down pipe was binding earlier I do think I could've got it in last night.

Slammed onto the ground right on the lower dust cover cut out on the bell housing!
Had a Jack up front and one in the rear. Front one slipped out as I pushed forward and the rear jack stayed under it.

My response was one word, same number of letters, and ended in a k. Wasn't the only time I said that word last night but it was certainly the loudest

I sometimes do them with no jack at all.get under there, roll it up on my stomach, knees under tail, hands under bell, lift it up and stuff it in.use my knees to hold it up while i get 2 bell bolts started.i pick them up myself and walk away with them as well.

Im a small dude but the small dudes are the ones you dont want to **** off.
