pyrometer questions

I am installing a glowshift maxtow 1500f pyrometer in my 91 f250 7.3 n\a where is the best place to put the probe and what's a good egt temp to stay under I have heard mixed review on glowshift gauges but have heard the max tow series is much better has anyone had good luck with them ??

A nice easy spot is on the drivers side exhaust manifold, between cylinder 6 and 8.

Here is a pic of mine.

I like how they match the factory gauges.

Did you get the set?

Best place is in the driver side exhaust manifold, between the last two cylinders.

I drill it with the engine running, and tap it with the engine running or just grease on the tap. But now I see you don't have a turbo, so however really, but above method is preferred.

didn't have the cash for the set lol I figured the pyro was the most important so that's what I bought thanks for the tips !!:D

Gotcha. Lol

There's some important info for the particular tap to use, but I can't remember for sure what it is.
I know Gary (Icanfixall) has the info.

just make sure you get them shavings out lol you don't want those going threw your already messed up turbo lol
