BawhahaSO,,,, your pump is ****, shot or ,,, choose one. Not totally but getting there, cali fuel kills mileage. My truck would loose 3 mpg EVERY time I fill up there.
What exhaust do you have?
The dually pump did this same thing OE sub 100k pump. floor it, was like a plugged filter.
Order a 90 from R&D and wait.
Best advice I have on short notice
Sorry I dont get in here much. Ill try to do better.
And if Michelle sees a msg on FB she will let me know , or answer!!! Shes a car chick.
...and meaningless even if it were steady.historically idle timing is all over the place if i recall
She is gunna come outta her little barn next week. I'M gunna put the meter on @ idle for grins, and report back. Not meaningless if you are using it to judge wear in the advance (transfer pressure) system. A newly rebuilt pump will usually show 12.5 degrees at idle speed with timing set to 8.5 at 2000 rpm.
I have been been able to get quite a bit more life out of pumps by re adjusting the advance cam to get these numbers again.
I’m not advocating for playing with the advance cam if you don’t know the basics but I can say that what @Black dawg said is correct. Here is a truck at 8.7 @ 2000 and 12.7 at 900ishGood to know! I've never read that here. Thank you.
Was reading round here on OB & stumbled up on this thread.OK, I guess I'm gonna have to be the one. How do you adjust the advance cam?
