Always a great idea to do the pump arm mod anyways.
And check the shift fork pads. I've had 3 tcase ruined by those little buggars.

I may pull the tail housing and check the gear and put in a fresh seal but at this instant, that's probably as far as I'll go. I've been casually looking for a spare case to rebuild and stick on the shelf. If I get time over the winter I may go for it but I need this thing whole now.

Looking great, I love seeing the progress. I think I am going to have to try the etching primer next time. Some of my paint is flaking off on me. I will admit, I am not a painter.

Looks the same or maybe a little beefier than what was on it.

Got it installed. Slid back a couple inches to be able to reach up from the bottom and align things. Probably could do it without pulling trans back but it would be really tough.

On Rob's advice, I decided to check out the speedo gear. I have the yellow gear on the cable side.

And yellow gear inside.

Spun it all the way around and it looks okay to me.

Now I need to go back to that article Rob linked and figure out what gear I need for 3.55's.

Finally.

All new hardware. Metric M12 flange bolts with nylock nuts on the cross member. Copious use of antiseize. New 1/2" grade 8 bolts in the bell housing.

Still need to put the shift tower back on and trans is done.

It's hard to tell but the water line just clears now.

When I sat it down on the crossmember, the back water line just touched the fire wall. I lifted it back up loosened the fitting and turned the L toward the driver side a bit and as you can kinda see, it clears by a bit.

I ordered the wrong damn bolts for the tcase. Somehow I goofed and got fine thread. I'll update that thread with that info. [emoji21]

So for the first time in a long time, she's sitting all on her own.

Inquired about the bolt kit. Still backordered. [emoji35]

Probably gonna just cancel it and piece things together. I think a hand full of m6 and m8 bolts will let me bolt the front end together so I can keep going. I need a few speed nuts. I may be able to get them either from the parts truck or order from McMaster or even get them from lowes. Lowes has body bolts and the speed nuts but it's pricey to get them that way.

New bolts will work for the tcase.

Need to clean the faces of it and get it hung back on there. That will get it out of my way as much as anything.

Picked up a couple weld on bungs for the filler necks to complete the fast fill mod. Pics when I get that done.

Garage cleaning has commenced getting ready for final body work.
