ODD TIRE SIZES ON 4 WD??

I JUST BOUGHT A 98 D2500 4 WD WITH CUMMINS AND 5 SPEED TRANS. IT HAS 2 DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES FROM FRONT TO BACK. I THINK IT WILL PROBLY DAMAGE THE TRANSFER CASE IF I USE 4 WD. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF I AM RITE??? TIRES ARE ABOUT 1 INCH DIFFERENCE IN SIZE. TRANKS JIM!!cookoo

You're right. The smaller tire will spin more than the larger tire. Off road where it's soft it won't really matter for short periods but if you're running on the highway for a long time you'll fry your t-case and/or an axle.

I'm pretty sure all the 2500s came with 245/75R16 tires up until they started putting the aluminum wheels on them around 2001 I think. There's ample room for 285s and maybe 315s at most.
