Ok, so it's not a TDI yet, but this is a funny little story.

The Cabrio I got for almost free a few months ago has no heat. It didn't matter in summer, but now it matters.

Checked HVAC cables, they're taut and good.
Checked coolant level and flow through, ok.
Went to check blend door...

For some reason things wouldn't click...

I see a strange small elbow connecting two hoses.

I see two plastic pipes connected to nothing, coming out of the firewall.

I can't find the heater hoses.

Hahahahhahahahahaha

I was a VW tech for 6 years, I thought I knew these cars... at the very least where things went. Hahahhaaha

sounds like a bypassed heater core. not a fun job on a euro car.
