If you really want to try to do something about the rising fuel prices contact your state and federal representatives and let them know that you are unhappy and want something done. Tell them to stop paying so much attention to the oil company lobbyists and more attention to us,
the people who vote for them.
I sent my letter to all my Representatives and got a reply within 48 hours. It doesn't take an overwhelming number of complaints to get their attention.
Great post y2kpsd
heres my response to our great representitives in dc
It is time for our representatives to act on the fuel pricing structure in this nation. At a time when oil companies are recording record profits at out expense, we need to have someone in our corner and that someone is YOU Mr. Smith.
I am a Republican in registry, I have voted for you in every election because I feel that you have always put us the general population ahead of special interest groups. I expect some help when I am being unfairly targeted by the major oil companies.
My thoughts on increase in diesel fuel pricing. The plain and simple fact is that diesel is what drives our nation. When you think about it. Almost any piece of freight that is hauled anywhere by any means uses diesel. It's a target rich fuel. Family's who drive gasoline powered cars; may decide that the cost of fuel is too much for them so they decided to stay home from their summer vacation. But with diesel fuel your target audience doesn't have that option; they must continue to haul the freight and those that haul the freight will just pass the cost onto us the consumer.
To have the cost of diesel fuel be in some places .50 higher than premium gasoline is absolutely ludicrous. Just the fact that diesel is a by-product of the gasoline manufacturing process and is far less expensive to make, should have raised alarms with our representives. This tells me that the oil companies feel we Americans are to ignorant to know what we are doing and that they can get away with anything. When Rockefeller tried this in the early years of our conversion to fossil fuels, the Congress passed the Anti-Trust laws for its constituents. What Mr. Smith can you do for the people that have elected you?
Mr. Smith please look into this blatant slap in the face by not only our own oil companies, but by the foreign oil companies as well.
Please uphold the traditions of our Oregon Congressmen and Senators of the past and act in the best interest of your constituents.
