Help.... Steam/Smoke or something coming out from under the hood...

like the title says, i have what appears to be smoke or steam coming from under the hood when the truck is running. i only notice it at idle. i have had the cdr off and it looks like someone rigged it because there is a hollowed out socket holding two halves together... i dont think its water related cause i dont smell coolant or see it leaking anywhere and it seems to be comming from the back of the block... am i right in my suspicion of the "adapter" for the cdr valve not sealing right and leaking blowby from the valley pan and if so how can i get this thing to seal up till i can get one from ford... or am i just chasing a ghost and need to be looking at other places?

If I not mistaken, the CDR has a grommet/o rings and a tube that goes into the valley pan.

Have you looked to see if you a have a fuel leak. There's a weep hole at the end of the valley pan that will leak down the back of the engine. In my case some of it made its way on the exhaust.

After looking through these, it doe not sound like that's your source of smoke.

I would bet CDR related.
Any chance it's raining?
I know on my 94, I removed the hood insulation. So once it's up to temp and it's raining, it'll steam the moisture off the hood.

It's really hard to see on my puter my screen is not fogging up. A pic of it would be nice.

Ill try and get a pic of it, put it on the lift at my brothers shop, pulled the cdr and damaged hose and kinda re-engineered it so it fits tighter, will have to see in the morning if it still doing it. but did find massive oil leaks from the front timing cover, somewhere between the engine and trans (thinking rear main) and a few other places its leaking from. going to take it to the car wash and try and clean it up to see where its coming from.
