getrag 5spd oil capacity

hey guys, was wondering how much fluid my Getrag 5 spd in my 93 will take, and what kindof fluid u recommend.

Most I know use synthetic to handle temps better and I don't recall how many qts but i do remember some use the PTO plug instead of the standard filler plug to fill bc the first one is up higher thus allowing for more fluid to enter. Hope is clear enough.

I want to say it's 4 quarts. The fluid is 5w-30 oil. I used the Lucas full synthetic engine oil when I changed out my fluid last year and really like it. I filled through the regular fill hole and went with stock. Overfilling the G360 with 1 qt of oil is recommended to make sure the bearings get enough lube.

Unless I'm totally off my rocker, the Getrag 360 was the standard bolt-action behind all of the 1st gen Cummins trucks.
