You don't list what year the truck is. Seems strange that a spirel snap ring was not in the Fwd. clutch, many changes were made in 93 to the E4OD. That snap ring was a problem, but was replaced with the spirel ring.

Spiral lock snap ring is an aftermarket fix for the OD piston. Rest of the snap rings are normal for all years.

To correct the forward drum snap ring issue, cut the ring groove deeper.
