So im probly gonna be buying a 1962 falcon 2dr of my buddy, plan is to build it into a old school gasser for the street. But i would like to run some kinda crazy unseen engine, thought about a triton V10 or a Y-block but now the idea arised about stuffing in an idi.. Should have plenty of room since i'll be taking the shock towers and factory frame rails out.. Id probly do a manifold mounted turbo like my BAE kit or something crazy like twim m90 superchargers with custom fender headers, and either way id probly do a custom intake setup just for looks.. It would be cool and make people scratch their heads, but im afraid it mite end up being slow as balls wich would suck.. What do you guys think about a hair brained idea like this????

Ya it would be a nose heavy ******, but i saw one online with a hemi in it and a hemi weighs in at 850lbs.. But it would probly be a bear to drive on the street.

Not much, but it's certainly hair brained. Lotsa work, lotsa money for an IDI crossover. :rotflmao:rotflmao

Either way id be doing the car the same way, so i can run anything that will fit between the fenders.. I just thought it would be totaly unseen and diferant wich i like.

Are we talking a Falcon CAR or a Falcon VAN (because there have been both!) An IDI in a mid-engined Falcon van would be awesome!

A fully dressed IDI weighs almost half as much as that Falcon. Might not handle so great.
Maybe a smaller/lighter diesel?
