As others have said, look at the oil cooler. I'm not saying you shouldn't refresh the head gaskets and install studs while you're at it. But a head gasket failure symptom is an overflowing coolant recovery tank, Mixing fluids is not as common. At this point, I don't advise letting it run long enough to see this happen, but no matter what you do, I'd install a seal kit in the oil cooler.
My oil cooler seals recently let go and pushed oil into the coolant. @typ4 can set you up with a kit.
