What is different and what will i need to do the conversion from the gasser that is in front of the bbc to put it behind the 6.2?

Absolutely nothing. All you need is a manual flywheel & clutch for the 6.2. They are the same bellhousing pattern.
IMHO, you are going to hate the gear spread, from 3rd to 4th.

The SM465 is nearly indestructible, provided you keep it full of good ole 80w90.

:oops:The only I forgot, is to check whether your 6.2 crank is machined for the pilot bearing.
Oh, yes, if your clutch kit doesn't come with one, you will need that, too.

$500:eek: For that kind of scratch, I'd do some salvage yard trolling, first.

I swapped a SM465 behind my 6.2L. Pretty easy overall. What really made it a slick package was the 3.21 axle and 33" tires. The gear gaps never bothered me. I started in 1st most of the time. It would fly down the highway too without sounding like it was about to explode - for a change! :sly

There are some 6.5L single-mass flywheels too. Same balance and bolt pattern as the 6.2L. The difference is they are relieved to accommodate a clutch disc with 2-stage damper springs. (I researched this as I managed to tear the center out of the stock type disc with my unforgiving clutch leg :D )

got my flywheel from kragen i never sent in the core but i think it was like only 200-300. so far i like it. i have 4.10s and 35's, doing 60-65 im getting better than 20mpg. once i put the dana 60 in the front im going to 37's which should make up for the freeway speed a bit and spread my gear ratios out a bit cause right now im pretty undergeared.
