7.3 Idi, what's it worth?

[1994 Turbo]

I stumbled across a complete minus front accessories 88 7.3 that has a glow plug laying on top of a piston and was ran for about a hundred miles that way. Is it worth getting for $100?

Yes that engine is worth that easily. Figure what any part of that engine will cost. An oil pump is $200.00. A useable set of heads is easily $300.00. A crank or a set of rods can be $400.00 plus.

I'd be willing to bet there are guys on here that would pay more than $100 just to use the motor as a core for a rebuild. Hell I would if I needed it. And that's just one option.

Heck yes, you could double your money scrapping it. Pull the injector of the offending cylinder and fish that thing out with magnet. Nice find.

Fish the GP out and compression test that chamber. You never know......
