Hi all, another question.
I've been a Ford IDI guy for some years, but am buying a 1990 6.2 Chev with lots of stuff on it. The bottom end of the engine 'broke' after a recent complete rebuild including valve grinds, pistons, pump, etc.
I'm thinking a quick fix might be to find a decent running 6.2 in a parts truck, and transplant that engine, with the new heads, pump, Banks turbo, etc. into the '90.
What years of 6.2 ( '80's ?) will readily transplant into a 1990 ?
I heard something somewhere about big pistons, small pistons. How do you tell, will parts such as heads, pump, still interchange ? What years for each ?
Thanks in advance for any info ..
