Have you checked the ground path back to the battery(like was mentioned in the beginning of this thread)? The harness has grounds that ground to the body, but it usually does not have the short pieces of ground wire that give the path from the body to the battery.

Your components are individually grounded to the body sheetmetal. The body is mounted to the frame in rubber body mount bushings, so you need a ground from the body to the engine block. The engine block has a couple of huge grounds to each battery for the starter motor, and those are good grounds to the battery. If you want to use the frame as a ground, you will have to run a ground wire from the battery to the frame, since the engine/tranny/transfercase/rearend springs are all mounted in rubber mounts.

The factory had ground wires for these different spots, but sometimes it's easier just to make your own new grounds.

We actually ran an eight gauge ground directly from the battery to the passenger kick panel with the other grounds. Turns out the brand-new headlight switch I bought three days ago with actually bad. Starting to reassemble, everything appears to be working good.
