The edges of the lift pump gasket are dry and there is not a large amount of oil in the general area either. I am either thinking front main seal or value cover gasket. I just do not want to be replacing parts and chasing problems.
I have recently discovered an oil leak while replacing radius arm bushings. The oil is all over the passenger side from the front cover to the y pipe. The oil drips on the driveway directly below the started. I at first thought that it could be a front main seal, but the oil film extents too...
I know that Banks used to make a van kit as I had a 1994 van with one on it, but I have not found a van kit for sale yet. Mostly looking for a used kit as I do not want to double my investment in the vehicle. Only paid $1800 for it 3 years ago. Would be nice if the truck kit fits the vans too.
I am in the market for a turbo for my 1992 van. I have done lots of looking and already know that the ATS kits will not fit. Will a banks kit for a truck fit the vans? This living at 4500 + feet with a n/a diesel is getting old. Last week I hauled 10k load of landscape bark and the van was...
That is great info since mine is leaking in the same place. I have been fighting fuel leaks for a while. I have replace the whole fuel system in the last year fixing one leak after another. I guess that these Utah winters are not as kind to parts as the Arizona desert.
Yes, it was transfered but it was installed incorrectly. The adapter was not contacting the sensor. I repositioned the adapter and now I have voltage and correct shifting. Thanks for all the help. Now just to solve my perpetual fuel leak. I see the have a leak where the fuel bowl screws to the...
Last month I replace the IP and injectors. I have fought getting the FILP adjusted ever since. I bought a new sensor over the weekend and it did not make a difference. Still really slow shifts and no overdrive lock up. I tried the paper clip trip in the back of the FIPL plug and I get less than...
The return lines and caps were replaced last July, do you think that I need to do them again? The valley pan is dry. This fuel leak is a complete mystery. I think I am going to get some florescent fluid to put in the fuel to trace the leak.
Just replaced the IP and injectors two weeks ago. It was leaking much more then. The entire valley used to be filled with diesel. Now it just drips down the front of the block near the lift pump area at a fast rate.
I seem to have developed a sizeable fuel leak at the lift pump area. I replaced the rubber hose that goes to the pump and the lift pump itself. Does the hose need to be a special kind? I just used fuel hose from the parts house. I cannot seem to find what else can be leaking. Any suggestions...
Makes complete sense to me, just wanted to make sure that there was not another cause. At least the underside of the van is clean now from the lift pump on down.LOL
I was planning on replacing the fuel line and pump this weekend anyway, but it stopped leaking this morning and I have a 1/4 tank only. So it confused me. I checked the tank and it was not pressurized. The injectors were brand new BBs.
The metal line seems to be tight enough, but the rubber hose is original and looks swollen. The smoke is only during acceleration, here at 5000 ft there is not alot of air.
I have replaced all my injector and IP with UHAUL stuff and my mileage was horrible. Checked the IP timing, smoke at acceleration. Then I saw all the fuel leaking when I parked it. I checked all the fuel fittings and nothing was leaking. I found that it was the mechanical lift pump that was...
Based on my other thread, it appears that I need a timing meter. Anyone in the Salt Lake City area have one for use? I have checked a few shops and they want to do it by ear.
I just replaced the IP with a new Uhaul pump and 8 brand new BB injectors. The IP is static timed with the hash marks lined up. The fuel mileage is horrible, worse than before when I had a leaking IP pump. Any suggestions?
The injectors are from Uhaul. They appear to be brand new in the packaging, BBs. I called Uhaul and they are send in me a new injector, no questions asked so far.
