What's my '93 7.3 IDI E-350 Ambulance/Motorhome worth?
Could my ambulance 7.3 have been a 1994? My memory isn't Everything. <g> Which reminds me: I have a 2007 truck in NJ and a 2004 truck in Florida. It's like everything else I've ever sold. <g> Should have kept the XKE, the Austin Healey's, and the Indians. I bought a 1996, no turbo 7.3 ambulance, non-dually rear, and found the ambulance body very heavy and the engine well underpowered as compared to my 1998 turbo 7.3 E-350 I paid $2900. for the ambulance - although that was about ten years ago.- PoodleHeadMike

Oil nozzles are available in narrow width patterns but narrow trades off with long. Burning oil requires tiny pieces of oil so there can be enough air around each little droplet to burn effectively. You could always make a 'chamber' by molding a 'wet blanket chamber repair kit' but for all the trouble I would just brick the barrel as I described before and be done with it.- PoodleHeadMike

Apparently those pre-formed chambers are NLA - I just checked for them. I last used one to convert a 1930's coal boiler to oil - about 10 years ago. I imagine that is a Very limited market these days. <g>- PoodleHeadMike

But back to business: building a boiler to heat a relatively short term greenhouse situation seems like the long way around the barn. A oil fired drum heater (with refractory to keep the oil flame off the metal) and a pedestal fan to circulate the heated air around the greenhouse seems easier...- PoodleHeadMike

Should I replace alternator bearings?
PHM ------------- My Motorcraft alternator in my 1994 IDI F250 was on it's way out making noises, and has some play in the shaft. I was in a rush and had to grab whatever they had at the parts store. Compu Doc - Do you really drive an ambulance? I ask because my 1994 E-350 is an ambulance package, albeit; a small and narrow one. It was a SWAT truck before I got it. All black. you mean just let it sit and idle ? Sit and idle until 180º? Or do you mean drive it around until it's 180º? I ask because I thought people were saying not to drive it for fear of the high fluid level causing damage. PHM -------- PoodleHeadMike

Thanks guys! The evil darkness snuck up on me while I was drinking a beer so tomorrow when it gets light out I'll pull the plug and drain some ATF out.
