    What's my '93 7.3 IDI E-350 Ambulance/Motorhome worth?

Could my ambulance 7.3 have been a 1994? My memory isn't Everything. <g> Which reminds me: I have a 2007 truck in NJ and a 2004 truck in Florida. For years I was absolutely Positive that it was the opposite. <g> I forget now what part I was buying but after it didn't fit I was faced with...

    What's my '93 7.3 IDI E-350 Ambulance/Motorhome worth?

It's like everything else I've ever sold. <g> Should have kept the XKE, the Austin Healey's, and the Indians. All just used vehicles when I sold them - priced as collector items now. <g> In the 1970's I bought a used 1970 VW Westfalia camper and camped all over the place - all fun times...

    What's my '93 7.3 IDI E-350 Ambulance/Motorhome worth?

I bought a 1996, no turbo 7.3 ambulance, non-dually rear, and found the ambulance body very heavy and the engine well underpowered as compared to my 1998 turbo 7.3 E-350 I paid $2900. for the ambulance - although that was about ten years ago.

    Barrel stove idea wmo/wood

Oil nozzles are available in narrow width patterns but narrow trades off with long. Burning oil requires tiny pieces of oil so there can be enough air around each little droplet to burn effectively. You will want avoid any flame impingement as oil droplets contacting any solid surface will...

    Barrel stove idea wmo/wood

You could always make a 'chamber' by molding a 'wet blanket chamber repair kit' but for all the trouble I would just brick the barrel as I described before and be done with it.

Apparently those pre-formed chambers are NLA - I just checked for them. I last used one to convert a 1930's coal boiler to oil - about 10 years ago. I imagine that is a Very limited market these days. <g>

    Barrel stove idea wmo/wood

But back to business: building a boiler to heat a relatively short term greenhouse situation seems like the long way around the barn. A oil fired drum heater (with refractory to keep the oil flame off the metal) and a pedestal fan to circulate the heated air around the greenhouse seems easier...

Is that what you want? 1000 square feet? I did like it when the narrator said: "No electric; just pneumatic and hydraulic power." Hmmm . . . so what drives the oil and fluid pumps? A water wheel? <g>

How big will this greenhouse be? ======================== Been thinking about building a greenhouse for some winter veggies and mushrooms. Need a way to heat it and maintain a good temperature through out the day or night.

    Should I replace alternator bearings?

PHM ------------- My Motorcraft alternator in my 1994 IDI F250 was on it's way out making noises, and has some play in the shaft. I was in a rush and had to grab whatever they had at the parts store. Ended up with a remanufactured AC Delco. They charged me a $50 core charge. I'm wondering if...

does too much ATF really hurt anything?

Compu Doc - Do you really drive an ambulance? I ask because my 1994 E-350 is an ambulance package, albeit; a small and narrow one. It was a SWAT truck before I got it. All black. The gun racks and all the communications and jamming gear is gone, but it has all the external light bars and...

does too much ATF really hurt anything?

you mean just let it sit and idle ? Sit and idle until 180º? Or do you mean drive it around until it's 180º? I ask because I thought people were saying not to drive it for fear of the high fluid level causing damage. PHM -------

does too much ATF really hurt anything?

Thanks guys! The evil darkness snuck up on me while I was drinking a beer so tomorrow when it gets light out I'll pull the plug and drain some ATF out. Damn good thing I added the drain, huh? <g> I did idle the truck back 50' so I could power wash off the concrete and then pulled it the...

does too much ATF really hurt anything?

1994 E-350 w/7.3 and E40D The guy at the auto parts store (Carl my transmission pal didn't return my call yet) looked it up and told me that my transmission would require at least a case of ATF after draining the pan. A little skeptical; I added eight quarts and thought to check the...

    Does a 7.3 need a cross-over pipe?

I asked because I was just under the truck - The transmission pan gasket has been leaking ever since my (apparently) goofy garage pals replaced it. And also; I wanted to add a drain plug to the trans pan while I had it off. Tilting the pan to drain it is BS. <g> While I was under...

    Does a 7.3 need a cross-over pipe?

1994 E-350 w/7.3 IDI (no turbo) Does the exhaust system on a 7.3 diesel require a cross-over pipe? The same way a gas engine does? Or are diesel vee-eight engines different in that regard? stephen -----------

Which ATF do I use ?

1994 E-350 w/7.3 and E40D Pep Boys and AutoZone say use: only Mercon 5 or something bad will happen. I ran into a guy I know who does only performance automatic transmission work and he said: do not use Mercon 5 or something bad will happen. His claim was: use only ATF. And he gave me...

How to check my fuel pumps pressure ?

an excellent question - I don't know what I want to know. <g> I am interested in checking things that, to my non-Ford diesel mind, seem like they may be related to the symptoms I'm experiencing with my truck. It sort of 'surges' at certain speeds. As though I were pushing and releasing the...

How to check my fuel pumps pressure ?

1994 E-350 w/7.3 IDI How can I check my fuel pump pressure? What is the correct pressure that I will be looking to have?

    Recall notice

They better be some pretty big and determined boys to keep my truck Won't let me leave? I guess I'd just have to be there to see that happen. <g> I'm no tough guy - but I can get pretty darned excited pretty darned quick. And I always have a spare key.<g> PHM ------

A half-azzed Fipple Switch install did not fix it nice

Ford says: FIPL - Advance Auto says: Throttle Position Sensor - Advance Auto Parts had what appeared to be the same part, calling it a 'throttle position sensor' but as it was half the price I questioned it's source. <g> So I bought the FIPL across a Ford dealer's parts counter...

A half-azzed Fipple Switch install did not fix it nice

Vans don't have tachs I have the correct values (I think) - we just never applied them. <g> When the truck took off running and shifting well - I just got back to work. And in our defense: all was well until today. <g> I was wondering if it could be the FIPL connector or it's contacts...

A half-azzed Fipple Switch install did not fix it nice

1994 E-350 w/ IDI and E040D transmission Trans was 'hunting' at certain speeds: up-down, up-down, stomping on it smoothed it out. Varying the road speed up or down a bit often smoothed it out. I thought the FIPL sensor was going to be a bit of a job so I had a friend of mine's shop do...
