Ha! Didn't think about that! Many of the larger truck stops will have taxed #1 fuel which is, for all intent and purposes, the same as kero. Be very careful you don't get dyed kero. If they catch you with dyed fuel, it costs way too much.- Flagship

timing question
I can't remember if there are marks on that tank or not. If so, well.... If not, mine stays about half full (or empty:rolleyes:) when cold. I really don't think it is critical as too much will simply spill out over the top. Makes a little mess but won't hurt as the cap won't hold any...- Flagship

And, don't overfill the overflow tank! The last time I added coolant, I was pouring it into the tank from a gallon jug. Slowly. I got distracted for just a second or so but when I looked at what I was doing, the stuff was flowing over the top of the tank. Yup! I just snapped the top on...- Flagship

Walk into any Ford dealership and ask for it. They'll know and give you what you need. If I remember, it's about 6 bucks a bottle. How many bottles you need depends on the readings you get.- Flagship

The service means it's within the serviceable limits. The lower left means it's at the precharge level, and the upper right, test area means it's out of limits. You want your test to come out in the green, service area. The coolant additives prevent cavitation and erosion of the coolant side...- Flagship

Just did manual gp mod.
For what it's worth, I was also confused about the length of time the WTS light was on and the clicking afterward. Then, I replaced ALL the glow plugs with new BERUs. Now, I turn on the key, the WTS light comes on and stays on longer than it did before. When it goes out, I twist the starter...- Flagship

I don't know, I guess I should take it to the shop, have them drop the pan, change the filter, check that the pickup is where it's supposed to be, put in the book specified number of quarts of oil and mark the dipstick. And I will be able to see this foaming on the stick? This tranny has a rear seal (where the driveshaft goes in), that leaks about 3/4 of a quart a year. Kenworth, and many other Big Rig trucks used to use a series/parallel switch to run the 24 volt starter on a 12 volt truck.
