Thank you and I won't take any suggestions the wrong way. I am the one standing here scratching my head over headlights. :) Do you know if these year trucks have a fusable link and not a fuse in the fuse box?
I actually didn't check the bulbs only because both are out and that is pretty...
Hey guys,
I took Big Red out the other day to a friends house and when I started to leave (at night), my headlights wouldn't work. Running, dash, and brake lights all work.
I am stumped. When I checked the fuse box, there wasn't anything labled for headlights. Is there a fusable wire...
fellow burners, we have success. Thank you for all of your feedback.
Put the new controller this morning, the glow plug light stayed on for about 10 seconds, and she fired up after not being plugged up last night.
Thank you all again and Happy Easter!
Good morning guys and thanks for the feedback.
I left her unplugged last night; tried to start this morning and same od thing. She would only turn over and never start. I will answer the questions from everyone's feedback and see if anyone has any advice.
1- I am in Atlanta, GA. Last night...
It fired up without being plugged in, but, required a few more turns than normal to start. The glow plug light only cycles one time without being plugged in.
Checked both batteries and both are fully charged and have 13 Volts.
Just wondering why it would take a few more turns to start? Could...
Okay. New relay and new plugs. She starts without being plugged up. However, she used to fire up on the first turn of the motor and now, the starter has to turn over 4 or 5 times before it starts. Also, the glow plug light only comes on one time now.
Thoughts?
Mad,
It does crank, but, does not start if it is not plugged up. I have not checked the resistance to each glow plug. how many volts should each glow plug receive? Do I check each one with the key moved forward one notch?
Thank you,

recently my truck will not start unless it has been plugged in. I just put a new GP relay on and same thing...
Guys,
Thank you all for your help! I am happy to report that "Big Red" is alive and kickin without leaks.
I couldn't have done it without your help.
Below is a picture of the final for anyone else in this position. I think the only change I will make us to get a 1/8" NPT x 3/8" barb elbow...
Hey guys.
I have a 1985 F-250 4x4 with a 6.9L and have screwed up royally.
I replaced my IP and started having a leake from the connection from the brass elbow on the IP to the return line.
Being stronger than smart, I cranked on the connection and broke the elbow. I cannot find an elbow...
