For a goose plate I welded 2 plates [5/16"?] together with four interlocked welded tabs for the rail pins. Using the plate keeps the ball low and under the 5th wheel hitch like others above.

Pulling grade I don't go any higher than 1150*. When you tow you'll notice you can control the EGT's with your right foot on the skinny pedal. Also pulling long grades try keep rpms 2400 or higher to keep the EGT's from rising to quickly.
We did a trip out to Knoebels a week or so ago. Left Jersey, went out through Bloomsburg south 487 to J&D CampGround. A couple of good grades that knocked your speed down but nothing to worry about.
