me & sarah {M/B 85 TD} have 10k miles together 1yr could't ask 4 better transportation.Only fluid she consumes is #2 diesel, no fluid loss between services only 176 K.However if she & a holloween witch entered a beauty contest sarah would loose. rust, missing trim, destroyed int., seat springs poke driver in derriere & alot of wisky bumps. IMO PO used 4 del wagon. ? is where in cyberspace does 1 find info on transplanting om617 & trans into a mopar 1500 or dak [reason large eng bay as 5cyl is tall & long] & NO electronics.unlimited info on repowering anything from airboats to peterbuilts with fomoco, [I/H] cummins, perkins, or gm but none on this sturdy shetland that ive been able to locate.so in closing this long winded post what i'm asking is where should this be placed to get related response.referals etc. greatfully appreciated. regards butch

There was a post a while back where someone knew a guy (ya follow that?) that transplanted a MB diesel into a Ford Ranger. I'm sure it could be done. If I had time & money, I'd stick one in a Ranger.

not to be a smart eleck but a diesel conversion with no computer controlled componets... is the easiest swaps... make motor mounts tranny mounts a few wiring and a d-shaft.... sorry I raced dirt track for a few years so you learn how to fab that stuff up.... my conversion I want to do is a 4cyc MB in a sport explorer.... I think my 5 cycl will be to long....
