Transmission Won't Down Shift

I have a buddy that has a 2000 PSD Auto that after the truck warms up he cannot maually down shift to 2nd or 1st. What would cause this?

Is there a release button on his shifter that he has not pushed?

When in doubt - try the easy stuff first!!

Give us a little more info. Is it shifting properly on it's own? Will the shift lever physicaly not move after warn up?

I talked to him again. Temperature doesn't matter. The shift lever will not physically move down into 2nd or 1st.
