If I owned a truck with a E4OD, I'd want one of these as a back up. I'd wait until he had more and then buy one. It could sit in the garage until it was needed.

I think Im gonna install justin's flexplate and have a junker as extra just in case. I dont want to do the same job twice for a long time.

The only problem I have is the time frame. This truck is my money maker. I can't afford that much downtime. I can afford being lazy and doing the job once tho.

Update. Torque converter was fine. The big chunks I suspect was from the old gasket flaking off. I was bending the old gasket and similar chunks were falling out. Reading old forums about e40d gets me traumatized sometimes.
Inner race spins one way. As it should

It’s all the na 7.3 van power. I believe R&D sells upgraded flexplates

Good to know!

It's the flywheel. Did I buy a crap brand flywheel? It was from Rock Auto.

Check your clearances between the converter and the pump bushing. But all rights, the flexplate will support most of the converter's weight, but slack on the bushing might contribute a little to the problem. I'm mostly spit balling here though.

Also glad you found the source of those chunks.
