One of my deuces has a throttle issue that I think will be easy to repair. I just need a better understanding of what I am up against. The truck runs and starts fine and will move when you let out on the clutch. But there is no response when you step on the throttle. If I push down on the throttle pedal it will return to its original position. Before I crawl underneath can someone tell me what I should look for? Does this sound like a common problem?

Okay, I crawled underneath and found the problem. The linkage is pulling back but the piece that sticks out of the injection pump is stuck. I could not get it to loosen by tapping it with a hammer. So what should I do next? Is this something I can repair without pulling the injection pump?

I pulled the passenger side fender for easier access. I zeroed in on the problem area. I do not know what that part of the IP is called, but I o know it does not work. Can any one offer me any tips or tricks before I proceed?

i would just start by using a good penetrating lube. Spray the heck out of it and lit it sit for a few hrs. Spray again give it a few light taps with a hammer and let it sit again for a few. Then you can start spraying and tapping the arm to start loosening it up. eventualy the spray will work its way in and start loosening things up once you get it free jst start working it back and forth and spraying the heck out of it. I have free's up lots of things like this.
