I am so mad at this point. I sent in several studs for testing and they got lost in the mail. I have re-sent studs for more testing but oh man that made me mad. I was waiting for the results. I never got to my truck but on spring break I will be pulling the motor to put in the new studs and let her rip.

The wife works at the post office, so I hear stories first hand about what goes on there... my best advice is to use Priority shipping... costs little more than parcel post ( like $4.25 from $4.50) and you get better control of the package... it spends less time in the system. Priority uses air to travel... parcel is on the ground... Its been alot better for me.

I just wouldn't use the postal service to send anything other than a letter. It took them almost a month to notify me that the package I was sending to Mel had been returned. Then when I went downtown to retrieve it it took over 2 hours for them to find. Why? Because the return address was "B. Goodwin, I was looking for Byron Goodwin".
Fed Ex got it to Mel in 2 days.

Try www.dhl.comDHL next time. Costs more but it will get there , and in one piece, and they'll pickup at your convenience within a 2 hour window.
A few years ago I was getting ready to ship something very rare and did some research. the pose office site was bragging about how many packages they handled every day, how many got delivered every day, average size, weight etc and quietly on a back page mentioning a percentage that disappeared every day, and later recovered, and percentage that disappeared , never to be seen again. A little quick simple math and I figured out the the USPS looses enough packages, never to be seen again, every single day, to fill a very , VERY large airplane hanger 
If you just have to use USPS, insure your package for at least $85 .Below $80 they don't have to get a signature and packages have a habit of growing legs , above $80 they have to get a signature.
Recently, we finally got a good letter carrier ( and I'm bein' real good to her, fixin' her car and everything, even though it is a Subaru
All joking aside, she's good people 
but before her, the only time we would get our packages and mail is when one of the neighbors who had got it delivered to them , had the time to bring it by, and when we got someone elses, we'd have to drop theirs. It was a daily rural musical mailbox game.

do you actually have to pull the engine to replace head bolts?
To replace head bolt no you don't have to pull the engine. To replace head studs yes for me because I have 3 or more broken off in the block and I need to be able to get a drill straight down on it to drill into it and remove them.

As said, studs yes... the studs require you to pull the head so far up off the block it hits the firewall... bolts can come out easily... most of the new trucks just cab off to replace the bolts with studs.... search around a bit and you can see the nice pics of the cab floating up in the air..
