I think the starter on my 94 crapped the bed.

Just looking to see what starters may be best, and what one's are worst.

I haven't diagnosed it yet, but figured I'd get a thread going just in case.

I know some on here have had good luck with DB Electrical starters. These are new chinese units. I ordered one for my '94 and it was a POS! It had dead spots in it so I never new if my truck was going to turn over or not. I sent it back and got a full refund, so the DB Electrical customer service was okay, but I won't buy another one. after that, I bought a Powermaster 9050 starter. It has worked great and really spins the engine over fast.

I'm wandering if "mean green" makes one. I've heard great things about them with duramax's.

I'll have to do some searching when I wake up.
Got a easter lunch in 4 hours, then another easter get together/niece's birthday party right after that. So for now I'm going to sleep after my long unfortunate night. LOL

Yep - Mean Green makes one too. pretty pricey though - around $300-$350 if I remember right. Powermaster is around $200-$250.

$399 for a mean green straight from them.
Checking to see if anyone else has it cheaper.

I was also reading about just using a newer PSD starter, but I think I want a gear reduction starter.
