plug for lift pump

just purchased a lift pump off a 01 for my 98.5 is the wireing the same or do I need a adapter

My son had to replace his lift pump several months ago on his 99 but if came with everything he needed.I thought they changed the pigtail from 99 up but I would call the dealer or a good diesel shop and ask them.

Larry, it should plug right in, if not the pigtail is only 5 bucks,

Why would you go from a reliable setup to a known failure? I'm sure you have a good reason, but I just don't know what it is.

Headhunter, in 98 it was the 12 valve mechanical pump and in 98.5 they came out with the 24valve units requiring the electric pump................Is that what yer askin???

need pigtail

Ok I did need the pig tail. the plug on my old lp is on the top and it is on the bottom of the new style lp. Anybody got a part # and where to purchase the pigtail.
