Because this is a college research paper, I presume that you're looking for more indepth information that what a few of us may be doing with regard to WVO and WMO. There are lots of good books on Amazon about biodiesel production. I'd start there.
There was a major trend that started in making biodiesel at home back in the late 2000's. One of the forefronts for homemake bio back then was in Oakland, CA. Maria Alovert developed a process to convert waste vegetable oil into biodiesel using a home water heater. This was named the Appleseed process. Many other folks were developing similar methods at the same time.
Piedmont Biofuels was an early startup in Chatham County, NC that was working to provide community biodiesel on a larger scale than homebrew.

After doing some background research, you might want to reach out to Lyle and see if he will let you interview him. He is one of the founders of the biodiesel movement in the USA and a genuinely nice guy.
