DIESEL BURNER HERE
Hello Yall
I have owned a 7.3 NA idi Ford dually and now I am going to go look at a 95 4x4 Dodge 2500 Cummins diesel truck that needs a rear end and I can get it at a good price 3kish. My question to you the experts on Cummins, because I am not too familiar with them YET. What do I look for to tell me signs that there might be something wrong with the motor? The guy told me that the tranny was rebuilt last year and the motor was replaced with another motor because the original motor’s fuel pump went to crap and then while he was driving it at the time the turbo took a crap because of this and so he just decided to get a whole different motor
. The truck has 205k miles and the motor has 30k less so 175k miles is where it puts it. Says it runs fine and drove fine until the rea end went out, and he knew it was going to go out. Sounds like he has taken the truck to get it serviced since he's owned it at a dealership. Now my other question is how easy is it to bump up the HP via the pump or turbo? Not sure how you do it, I did on my 7.3 Ford but like I said im new to Cummins but have been wanting one for some time. Help out fellas. I can find a rear end for 350ish....and I have the time and the means and the car hoist to swap it out easy
. Is the price off??? im sure its rusty just how rusty can't tell by the pics, but I will find out this Sat when I go ready to buy with cash in hand....do you guys think that an offer of ?2500 would be a slap in the face?
