I found a 1985 F-250 6.9l 4x4 with a T-19 sitting in a field, and after talking to the owner he said he would sell it to me for 500 bucks. There is only one problem, he thinks it threw a rod, but he wasn't positive. He said he was driving about 65 one morning and it threw a rod. I have been really interested in getting an idi, and wasn't sure if this was a good deal.

yes, it seems like the rest of the truck is flawless. New Tires, good paint, good tranny, interior is in good shape. Thank you

Got my '85 for $500. the engine made a lot of noise once I got it started. Found out one of the lifters was busted, exhaust had to come out the intake valve after the cylinder fired.

My $500 truck towed all my earthly belongings from CA to WY and CO. I lost track of how much i put into it, but no more than $1000 (that includes a $500 radiator halfway across Nevada).
