ignition switch issue

Hi guys not sure what's going on but I replaced the election ignition on the column cause I thought the old one was bad. Not sure I had the new on adjusted right but it was harder turning the key but would start well now back to the pliers to start it after some time it's like it loses adjustment? Any basic rules how to put thus on or what spot the key needs to be in when installing?

Also the key does not spring back like it should just wonder if I should replace the column since the wheel is wobbly
