I've read several comments about adding electric pumps. If you rig it to pump 'through' the original mechanical pump, there is a likely chance that the diaphragm on the mechanical pump will rupture at some point in time and allow fuel into your crankcase oil and will seriously affect your engine. Most recommend bypassing the mechanical pump to avoid this costly possibility.
