OK here the deal I have and I figured this out using receipts. I have like 17,500.00 (yes thousand) into this truck not including buying the truck & the little stuff like the headlights/tail lights/Clear markers, all the -6 & -10 EARLS prolite 350 line which I ran all the fuel/oil/trans lines in. NOS turbo set-up from a 6.5 ( Minus the turbo) ,ARP head studs, all new front steering component's, etc etc you get the point. I would like to get 9,500 obo which still leaves me losing my ass, But i need a 1 ton truck to pull my camper. I prefer to look at trade offer's and deal with them and not a fixed price that will scare most away. But will look at All CASH Offers just be reasonable!!!

the motor had 58,000 miles on it when came out of a Truck that was owned by the Fenton school District now has about 61,000

Truck is originally from Tucson,AZ came to MI in 2003

That's a cool conversion. Ready for a drive in the desert and campout. Flat black would be my color of choice instead of camo. It must sing with that Detroit.

its a 6.2....? I wanted a suburban of that generation in a diesel for the longest time in 4wd. But they were all ROTTED. Even my 96 was showing signs of rust. I can't tell you how much i had to grind and cut out and it was a southern truck (lived by the coast though). But having owned a few 6.5's i can honestly say no thanks.

I like the navistar, like being able to pull the valve covers without having to pull the injector lines or the RETARDED push button rocker retainers!

379 Cubic inch. Detroit designed the 6.2. Thats why I say its a 6.2. Also that turbo kit is for a 6.5 but works just the same one a 6.2

Come on guys, Wikpedia or something for the full history.;Really

Detroit Diesel/General Motors V8 Diesel

Manufacturer Detroit Diesel introduced a line of Diesel V8 engines for GM in their C/K pickup trucks in 1982. This engine family, designed by GM division Detroit Diesel, was produced by GM through 2000, when it was replaced by the new Duramax line.

Well ya learn something new every day!, Pretty bad advertising that it is a Detroit Diesel.

It reminds me of the time that a guy stopped buy with a 96 Taurus V8 SHO that sounded Sweet!,.. He said, "Yea its got a Formula 1 Motor in it".."Really", I said,."Let me see it",..Well it was the Stock Yamaha V8 Motor but since the technology was the same used in Formula 1 racing, He considered that a Formula 1 racing motor,..cookoo

Kind of a stretch,..

Having owned a gm diesel, i never referred to it as a GM diesel. People that even remotely know cars gasp as horrors of the old 4.3 and 350 converted diesels still brings back bad memories.

yes my burb had a detriot diesel in it. :)
