Well, My batts are getting weak. So I've decided that @ 107K miles, it's prolly time to rebuild the charging system. I've got the cables on order from Custom Battery Cables.com. I'm going for a pair of Interstate Batteries tomarrow, and I'm looking for a new alternator.

What was the stock output from Ford?
Will a higher amp output be of any use?
I see the 130-200 amp alts on ebay for about the same price as stock.
I do have a large stereo amplifier, but rarely use it to it's full potential (must be gettin old?).

Leece Neville makes the high output ambulance alternators (Mine is 165 amp). The 3G is made by Ford and comes in 95 and 130 amp models.

You could have your alternator load tested for output. A reman could very well produce less amps than your original.
